Guided by Wires

Alice Cooper and Sublime have been stuck in my head for the past week May 8, 2010

I’m not quite in the habit of posting on here regularly yet and I haven’t exactly decided how much of my personal life I want to share, which may explain the wide gaps between posts.  Not to mention the fact that I have no idea how many people read or care about what I have to say here…

Anyway, in terms of personal stuff — I’m keeping it vague for now.  Big changes, difficult adjustments and moving forward is all I have to say about that.

In other news, I’ve decided to overcome my fear of things with wheels and finally learn how to roller skate.  And I’m not stopping there…I plan on becoming a pro on eight wheels so I can join the roller derby.  I’ve been somewhat fascinated by roller derby for a little while now; and I feel like I haven’t purposefully done nearly enough things in my lifetime that scare the shit out of me — so roller derby it is! Volunteers for skating buddies are welcome!

School’s out for summer and I’m looking to keep occupied as much as possible.  So far my plans for the next few months go as follows: learn to skate (obviously), read tons of books (recommendations please!), get a job (again, recommendations anyone?), volunteer at the Women’s Center a bunch, and put a lot more miles on my running shoes.  Also, looking to make new friends in the Lansing area; now taking applications. 🙂
